Your next steps

Recommended practices for your entity type and catch-up bookkeeping.

Give the catch-up work a clear starting point
Find the last month each business account was reconciled against its statement. Work forward from there, one account and period at a time. A defined starting point keeps the scope focused and makes progress easier to check.
Match payments before adding them again
When a bank transaction belongs to a payment already entered in QuickBooks, match it to that payment. Adding it as another sale can duplicate the entry. Once payments are linked correctly, use the remaining invoice balances to decide who needs a reminder.
Make the finished reports useful
Give owner contributions and withdrawals their own place in your records. Ask your accountant how they should be classified for your LLC. That makes it easier to distinguish money earned by the business from money moved by its owners. Our accounting team can scope the periods to complete and hand over a list of completed work and remaining questions.

How it works

You do the first step. The rest happens on the page.

  1. Type your business name

We search the New York Department of State records and show the matches. You pick yours.

  2. Read your plan on screen

The plan combines your registration details with the practices that fit your entity type. Save or print it.

  3. Decide if you want help

Waqas Hussain, the accountant who does the paid work, follows up by email. You agree scope and price before anything starts.

What the free plan is, and is not

Straight answers so you know what you are getting.

It is

  • Built from your official state record, with the source linked
  • Specific to your entity type, corporation or LLC
  • Free, on screen, and yours to keep
  • Followed by one email from a real accountant, not a drip campaign

It is not

  • A look inside your QuickBooks file. We never ask for logins or statements at this stage.
  • Tax or legal advice for your situation
  • A quote. Paid work is scoped and priced on a call, after you have read the plan.

Who you will talk to

Waqas Hussain of Morphology Tax does the paid bookkeeping. He is the accountant on the 15-minute call.

Common questions

What owners ask before they try it.

What if my business is not in the state records?

Sole proprietors and businesses registered outside New York are not in the dataset we search. You can still book a 15-minute call with Waqas and describe your situation.

Who sees my email?

Waqas Hussain at Morphology Tax, who delivers the paid work, and Shakur at CodeMyVibe, who runs this site. Nobody else. You get one follow-up email.

Do I have to use QuickBooks?

Both plans are written around QuickBooks Online because that is what the paid work covers. The record and entity-type advice apply to any bookkeeping system.

Is this connected to Intuit?

No. Books Current is independent of Intuit. QuickBooks is a trademark of Intuit Inc.
